New BOSW Website "Go Live" July 14!
The BOSW is implementing the "new and improved" statewide Tridion website software July 14!  The goal is to create easier access to important imformation and a more consistent website look across state agencies.  All content will be up-to-date.   The current 24/7 availability of online services continues with no changes and you can access the site using the same web address.  Use Chrome as a browser for the best display and functionality.  We hope you find the new website easy to maneuver and useful.

Governor Appoints Three to Board of Social Work
Governor Mark Dayton has appointed three members to the Minnesota Board of Social Work. 

2013-2014 Grandfathering Application Deadline is December 31 2014
Grandfathering applications cannot be accepted after midnight on December 31, 2014.  Applications submitted by December 31, 2014 will be reviewed and processed.  Read more about the 2013-2014 Grandfathering eligibility requirements.

Workforce Survey
The Board encourages you to complete the Minnesota Department of Health Office of Rural Health and Primary Care Workforce Survey.  You will be asked to participate in this prior to paying for your online renewal.  This survey is an important tool used for planning for the future of Minnesota!

ASWB is seeking qualified social workers to write questions for the exams used in the US and Canada
Interested applicants must have both a degree in social work and a valid social work license, be currently practicing social work (teaching social work courses is also considered practice), and have the ability to produce 30 multiple choice questions that meet ASWB standards. All writers must be able to work with computers and email. Additionally, all writers must attend a training session, to be held June 27-29, 2014. Travel expenses to attend training, including food and lodging, will be paid by ASWB.

Social workers from all levels of social work education, licensure, and experience are needed. Writers from diverse demographic and practice backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Selection is limited to 20­–25 writers. Successful applicants will be paid $1,000 for a set of 30 test questions determined to meet ASWB standards, written over a six- to eight-month time frame.

Amendments to the rule for outpatient mental health services covered under Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare have been adopted with an effective date of June 28, 2011.  The DHS Outpatient Rule 47 website includes training materials, links to the bulletin and actual rule, Q&As, and much more.
